In this paper, we present an angle-based hand model consisting of 26 degrees of freedom, that is normally used by the DataGlove. Based on this angle-based hand model, we build a point-based hand model consisting of six points including the position and orientation, that is convenient for some applications of Virtual Reality environments. Afterwards, we show that the two hand models are equivalent with some minor exceptions by building the angle-based model upon the point-based model.
