My Brave Goodbye

Walking down this stretch
Of an oft uncertain road,
God's grace again He proved:
I walked side by side with you.

And as we journeyed down
This trail not trod before,
We laughed, at times we cried
And touched each other's lives.

I long to tell with words
What only hearts can know;
Of what you've meant to me,
How changed I'll ever be.

How faint my brave goodbye
And far too soon it seems
That our roads now turn apart,
And mingled paths unwind.

Now I leave you to His hands
'Till we meet to journey more
Down roads with dirt and grass
Or streets fresh paved with gold.
