Gotta have coffee when I wake up.

When I travel, I wonder if the coffee will be strong enough.
Will it be the kind that's pale, that lets you to peer into the cup and see the bottom,
that turns sand-colored when you pour in the cream?
Does that little gingham-curtained cafe have something better?
Will the waitress refill my cup before she plonks down the bill?

Will I have to wait?

I bring a jar of instant and a spoon,
so I can shove a spoonful or two into my mouth before I leave the room.
Those vile crystals stick to my tongue and teeth,
but it's better than the alternative.

I'd rather not detox unwillingly.
