Borne in Mexico City and holding a B.S. in Electronic Engineering, Luis came in 1996 to the United Stated to conduct his graduate studies at Texas A&M University. After obtaining his M.S. in Computer Science he began his doctoral studies. Currently he is a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science pursuing reasearch in areas of Intelligent User Interfaces, Hypermedia, Digital Libraries, Compute Supported Collaborative Work, and Information Delivery.

Luis has collaborated in the design and implementation of several hypermedia systems that explore different aspects within his areas of interest. These systems include: WARP, MMA, Path Manager and Walden's Paths.
