Medical Kit


Besides carring my Medical Kit, Costa Rica has some health risks to be aware.

Health Risks: Dengue fever, Malaria, low risk of Cholera and Hepatitis

Malaria
  • Chloroquine is the recomended prophylactic medication in this country. My doctor prescribed it to me as Aralen starting one week before my trip.
   Other anti-malaria medicines are:
  • Mefloquine
  • Fansidar

  • Halofantrine
  • Quinine sulphate
Cholera
  • Tetracycline
Hepatitis
  • I went to my doctor and got a vaccination for Hepatitis A.
