Groupware in Practice: An Interpretation of Work Experiences

Summary

This paper highlights the duality of introducing GroupWare technology into an organization. In one hand, there are technical issues such as electronic communication, selection of the functionality being offer, selection of a proper access to the functionality, and the integration or isolation of the different tools. On the other hand, there is a social or organizational aspect that has similar importance. In order to facilitate the implementation of GroupWare four aspects must be considered: champions, expectations, training and evolution.

I also found this paper a little bit too optimistic, especially when referring to the coordinator System.
