On Friday 13th Nov, we discussed on Digital Library definition and its scope. We have discussed on several issues related to Digital Library to define Digital Library.

  • Payment
  • Physical location
  • Various Policy issues
  • Social issues
  • Comparison between Traditional Library and Digital library
  • Various definition of Digital Library from other institution.
  • Ownership.

    Based on these discussion.. We came to following frame of definition.. which is general and covers all the aspects.. we may narrow down the scope based on individual policy and resources.

    DEFINITION:

    "Digital Library is a collection of electronic "resources" that provides direct or indirect access to a systematically organized collection of Documents."
