Saravjit S. Rihal – A brief biography I was born in London, England on the 12th September 1970. I enjoyed the usual carefree life of an English kid whose sole worry in life was to be the first on the soccer pitch at school. Whenever soccer was not an option, cricket and athletics would suffice. I went to high school in the West London suburb of Ealing and quickly moved onto Imperial College, London (University of London) to complete my Bachelors degree in Computer Science. Having finished at Imperial I then went onto study for a Masters degree in Ergonomics (and Human Factors) at the University College London (UCL) and Birkbeck College (both colleges of the University of London). Having finished my second degree I felt that it was high time I got a job. Electronic Data Systems (EDS) were the unlucky ones to hire me. I was there for almost two years working on an air traffic control project and on, what was then, Britain’s largest object oriented project for a holiday company. It was during this time with EDS that I felt the need to undertake a Ph.D. and so here I am now at TAMU studying for a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering – specializing in Software Usability. Hopefully I’ll be finished in May 1999 and then maybe I get a job for good.
