Interaction is the tail that wags the dog of computation and networking.
Interfaces are the artifacts that people actually touch and feel.
What can people do with computers? What are the contexts in which
these activities occur? What makes a good interface?
Interface paradigms and techniques. The analysis of information flows. Processes and methods of design and evaluation. Affordances and usability. Ethnography, culture, and context. Information architecture and visualization. Students will learn and synthesize conceptual frameworks, which they will use to critically analyze case studies. They will apply this perspective to assess requirements, articulate architectures, and design interactions. | |
