Beans, RMI, Voyager
Java Beans is certainly an interesting technology for visual software development. It is however not a technology for distributed computing and is as such not interesting for the OHS on the wire considerations.
If the OHS on the wire group should recommend that a Java-centric solution should be chosen, one might desire develop 'structure beans', but generally speaking the 'customisability' of a Java bean is more suited for (relatively) simple stuff rather than a full blown API.
To sum it up: A technology that may come in handy at some point, but not now.
