CORBA
Information on CORBA has recently become widely available. In particular several books have appeared which are aimed at the CORBA novice. These books supplement some of the more advanced books which already existed. The list below is incomplete but is a good place to start in learning about CORBA. (I will update the list as I learn of more references. If you know of additional CORBA resources not on this list, please send me the details.)
| The OMG Website | The OMG is the organization producing the CORBA standard. |
| The Essential Distributed Objects Survival Guide by Robert Orfali, Dan Harkey, and Jeri Edwards. John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 604 pages, 1996. ISBN 0-471-12993-3. | A high level overview of distributed object technologies that focuses primarily on CORBA. |
| Client/Server Programming with Java and CORBA by Robert Orfali and Dan Harkey. John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 657 pages, 1997. ISBN 0-471-16351-1. | An excellent book which develops a simple example using a variety of techniques including: sockets, CGI, RMI, DCOM, and CORBA. A great hands-on book to CORBA. |
| OOC's CORBA Page | This is a page maintained by Object Oriented Concepts, Inc. with many links to CORBA-related information. |
