IVICA Information & Update

The 2009 Symposium on Interactive Visual Information Collections and Activity (IVICA) invites submissions reporting research and practice regarding software for working with information visually. This includes the entire cluster of activities related to composing, nurturing, collecting, maintaining, and making associations within information; the environments and related tools in which these activities take place; and the theory behind these activities and environments.

 

Appropriate topics include:

 

• authoring interfaces,

• argumentation interfaces,

• information presentation, management, and sharing tools,

• interactive information visualizations and explorations,

• spatial hypertext,

• visual forms of communication, and

• visual representations for learning and education.

 

Submissions

 

Papers are invited on the theory, design, implementation, or evaluation of visually expressive computational media. Full Papers can be up to 6 pages in PDF, following the ACM conference format. Short Position Papers can be up to 2 pages also in PDF, following the ACM conference format. Panel submissions should be no more than 2 pages and indicate the topic/issues to be discussed in the panel and likely participants in the panel. Selected papers will be invited to be extended to be part of a Journal of Digital Information special issue.

 

Submissions (PDF files) should be emailed to shipman@cs.tamu.edu by the due date.
