Botany 328 - PLANTS AND PEOPLE - Term Paper - Summer 1998

Use your text index, the library, especially references on reserve for BOTN 328, NOTIS (WILS), and PC-based information retrieval systems (AGRICOLA, Science Citation Index, etc.) at the 'Library 110' area of Evans Library, or the World Wide Web (try NewCROP Search or other web search 'engines') to research a specific crop plant. Gather information concerning taxonomic structure (cultivar groups, related species, etc.), origin(s), distribution, uses, economic importance, associated human cultures, etc. Your paper should be type-written and not more than five (5) double-spaced pages of text and at least five (5) primary references in the "Literature Cited" section which should be cited within the text as (Author, year) or web address (URL). DUE DATE: 6 August.
