The bunched cory cactus (coryphantha ramillosa) is a cactus with rounded, usually single stems to 4 inches tall.  It is a very endangered plant found in remote areas of Southwest Texas and Mexico.  The main reason that it is endangered is because it has been overcollected by humans probably because of its unusual shape and colorful bloom.
