- Morning Glory, sweet potato, unlike Irish potatoes and yams,
sweet potatoes are roots
Medicinal uses - Root used as a purgative.
Diagnostic characteristics: twining herbs, flowers 5-merous with
corolla fused into a tube, stamens attahced to petals. Convolvulaceae
are similar to Solanaceae except sepals
are not fused
